Kamal Aljafari
Kamal ALJAFARI (1972, Palestine) graduated from the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne in 2003. In his films, he combines documentary and fiction to portray everyday life in Palestine. His work has been shown at various international film festivals and in galleries all over the world. In 2021, he was a jury member for the Leopard of Tomorrow section of the 74th Locarno Film Festival and at the Burning Lights Competition of Visions du Réel, Nyon. His work was showcased at Montreal’s Cinémathèque Québécoise in 2016 and in 2021 was also the subject of a focus programme at Curitiba International Film Festival in Brazil. Paradiso, XXXI, 108 (2022) premiered in Corti d’Autore at Locarno Film Festival and was selected for IFFR 2023. In 2024, Aljafari once again joins IFFR with UNDR (2024).
