Abolfazl Jalili

Abolfazl JALILI (1957, Iran) was educated in directing at the Iranian College of Dramatic Arts and then worked for national television (IRIB) where he produced several children's films. The film Dance of Dust, which had been banned from screening for six years in Iran, won the Silver Leopard Award at the Locarno Film Festival in 1998. Jalili was one of the 'Filmmakers in Focus' in 1999. His films deal with tabooed topics and are therefore often daring and provocative.
