A kinetic film installation in which a script is projected instead of a film. Words describe invisible pictures in the dark. Rosa Barba makes use of a moving projector, which literally throws the words onto the wall. Her work moves between the material conditions of cinematography's earliest years and the 'here and now' of her imaginative power. Early projectionists determined the rhythm and flow of the pictures, as well as the breaks between them. Rosa Barba elevates the film projector itself to an object of wonder, in its role as the more-or-less steadily beating steel heart at the centre of the cinematic experience.
