Portrait As… is the visually exceptional portrait of the British avant-garde film maker Stephen Dwoskin. In it we don’t get to see or hear Dwoskin. Claire Fowler chose an idiosyncratic approach: she sketches the maker through his surroundings. The camera roams lovingly through the house where Dwoskin has lived and worked for 30 years and we become acquainted with his past and present as a person with a handicap and a successful film maker/artist.
