Kids Only 2020 dagprogramma

On Sunday 26 January, young film enthusiasts can attend Kids Only, a fun film festival programme put together specially for children aged 8 to 12 and their parents. Do you want to bring a scene to life by creating your own music and sound effects? You can do it at Kids Only!

In the morning you can get inspired by wonderful films, then after lunch you can get to work exploring the worlds of film and new media as a maker during the workshop of Watch that Sound. In this workshop, you learn how music and sound can influence the meaning of images by creating your own soundtrack for a film scene. This way, you give a new meaning to the same images. Using Watch that Sound’s special software, you get to explore the world of sound.

You can choose between a morning or a full day programme (10:00 to 12:00 hours or 10:00 hours to 16:00 hours). During the morning programme, together with their parents children can watch an exclusive, international programme full of animated, fiction and documentary films.

If you choose the full day programme, this is then followed by a lunch for everyone, and then the children take part in a film-related workshop while their parents watch The Perfect Candidate, screening at 13:15 in Pathé 1. To round off the day, kids and parents can all watch the workshop results together.

Love is a big adventure, particularly for the romantic stray dog in Hot Dog. He is in love, but his lover is hard to reach as he first has to climb into the garden, tame the folding chairs and then defeat the dangerous robot lawnmower.

A cleaner planet demands more electric cars. The raw materials for the batteries are mined in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, often by children, under poor conditions, and this causes severe air and river pollution. Original stop-motion animation with a clear message.
