Legión – Tribus urbanas motorizadas

Campusano's true debut (before, he co-directed and starred in a medium-length film) is key because it is his only documentary and it is circumscribed by the symbolic universe of bikers, i.e. everything he would later reinvent from a fictional viewpoint. This is the material genealogy of his body of work, which would later be subverted by his poetics.

The title conveys a point of view: the groups which organise and attend bikers' parties are belated tribes, forms of an affective and spiritual association which remind us of an ancestral memory which Campusano himself will later relate to the Quilmes, an ethnic group which inhabited the Quilmes and Berazategui areas which were also the locations of Campusano's earliest films. The mere register of events and the interviews with those who participate in them – including Vikingo, a legendary character in future Campusano films – convey a system of values and an embryonic life philosophy which transcend the love for motorbikes.
