In 1896, the first film was shot made in Canada by William Heise. The camera he used for this was designed and built by Thomas Edison and William K. Dickson. The film material was made to Edison's specifications by George Eastman. His subject was the Niagara waterfalls. Now, 110 years later, using exactly the same equipment John Price has made a beautiful short film by the same waterfalls, seen from the Canadian side. A project in the series ‘Film is Dead - Long Live Film’.
