A man and a woman meet in this love-story of chance.' The film tells of the Christmas Eve of 45-year-old Michel, who has just lost his wife. Starting in a ba, in the night, he meets a series of lonely, bizarre, horny, depressive and inquisitive men and women. Nicloux' cameraman for was Raoul Coutard, who regularly wielded the camera for Jean-Luc Godard in the sixties.
