Samuel Fuller

Samuel FULLER (1912-1997) was already chief reporter for The New York Journal at the age of 17. After World War II, he directed several minor productions that he largely wrote and produced himself. A masterpiece was Pickup on South Street for 20th Century Fox in 1953. In the late fifties he continued as independent director and made many memorable films.
