Pier Paolo Zerilli

Pier Paolo Pasolini (1922-1975), born in Bologna, had already acquires some fame as a poet, essayist and writer when in 1954 he wrote the script for a film by Mario Soldati. After working as assistant director to e.g. Fellini and Bolognini, he became one of Italy's most brilliant and controversial film-makers. The tension between extreme left-wing Marxism and a deeply-rooted mystical religious lies at the root of much of his work.î
