IFFR Pro

Pro Hub in 2022

During IFFR 2022 the Pro Hub will bolster its support of filmmakers to give them a meaningful experience during the Pro Days. Filmmakers with a film at IFFR 2022 can expect a trajectory of several warm-up sessions and personal contacts with the IFFR team and mentors ahead of the festival.

During the festival the Pro Hub supports both emerging and more seasoned filmmakers in developing new connections, finding allies in the film community, and encouraging an open exchange of ideas and knowledge.

Pro Days programme

During IFFR Pro Days, there will be a select programme of expert panels and Pro networking round tables with specially invited guests from diverse backgrounds within the film community. These will encompass the breadth of experience to be found at IFFR and will be curated by IFFR Pro and the Guest team working across its programmes (CineMart, Hubert Bals Fund, Rotterdam Lab). Topics will cater towards the interests of emerging filmmakers, curators, programmers and experienced professionals.

Pro Hub mentors

Directors and producers with a film at IFFR will have the opportunity to book personal, one-to-one meetings with one of the Pro Hub mentors. These insiders are open to discussing the concerns of filmmakers, answering questions in the fields of production, co-production, financing, marketing, sales, distribution and festival strategies – providing important guidance and inspiration.

Pro Networking round tables

Networking round tables will give filmmakers with a film at IFFR 2022 (both the audience programme and Press & Industry Selection) the opportunity to meet and connect with key professionals from festivals, funds, markets, production, sales, and consultancies during constructive sessions within a protected and supportive environment.

Specific networking round tables will focus on festivals strategy and distribution for films without a sales agent, others on connecting to programmers from film festivals to filmmakers presenting their films.

Special sessions will be hosted for Short & Mid-length filmmakers, in order to meet with distributors and programmers from the short film community.

Badge

The programme of personal mentor meetings, panels and round tables are all complimentary for selected filmmakers.

Limited access

For the one-to-one meetings and the Pro round tables it is necessary to book a place. Please note: Capacity is limited and places are assigned on a first-come-first served basis.

Due to the limited capacity this year, all Pro Hub sessions will only be accessible to filmmakers in the IFFR 2022 Official Selection (both the audience programme and Press & Industry Selection).

Filmmakers and professional delegates will be taken care of by the Pro Hub and Guest teams and the online programme for the 2022 edition reflects a joint effort. This year the Pro Hub team consists of Nikolas Montaldi, Tommaso Priante and Jiří Pecinovský.

The Pro Hub mentors this year will include Karim Aitouna, Hayet Benkara, Marjorie Bendeck, Tejinder Jouhal, Marina Kozul, Pierre Menahem, Wendy Mitchell and Susana Santos Rodrigues.
