Van Sowerwine
Van Sowerwine (1975, Australia) has been collaborating with Isobel Knowles since 2001, when the two met whilst studying media art at RMIT University in Melbourne. Together they create ecstatically detailed, technically adventurous animations both as films and immersive museum installations. Their installations have won awards at Prix Ars Electronica, QAGOMA New Media Art Award and have shown in major institutions across the globe. Their short film Clara (2004) premiered at Cannes and their VR stop motion film Passenger (2019) premiered at Venice Film Festival and screened at IFFR. They recently completed Night Creatures, which premiered at the 2022 Melbourne International Film Festival, and premiered internationally at IFFR 2023.
