Utagawa Tatsuhito

UTAGAWA Tatsuhito (1990, Japan) is a freelance filmmaker who mainly works in the field of documentary. He graduated from Ritsumeikan University in the visual arts deparment and started his career making documentaries for NHK, Japan's national broadcasting organisation. His documentary Cambodian Textiles – about Japanese artist Morimoto Kikuo, who dedicated himself to the revitalisation and preservation of traditional Khmer silk weaving – was screened at several international film festivals and was in competition at Beyond The Borders International Documentary Festival. With The Sculpture of Place & Time, Utagawa remains in Cambodia, this time focusing on classical Khmer dance.
