Mieke Bal
Mieke BAL is a cultural theorist and critic and Academy Professor at the Amsterdam School for Cultural Analysis (ASCA) of the University of Amsterdam. Her books include Loving Yusuf (2008), A Mieke Bal Reader (2006) and Travelling Concepts in the Humanities (2002). She is also a video artist, making short experimental documentaries on migration. Occasionally she acts as an independent curator. Separations (2010) is her first feature length documentary.
