Ana Cristina Barragan
Still: AlbaAna Cristina BARRAGÁN is an Ecuadorian screenwriter and filmmaker. She studied filmmaking at University San Francisco de Quito, with a minor in still photography. Her debut feature Alba premiered at IFFR in 2016 where it received the Lions Film Award. The film was screened at over 100 international festivals and received more than 30 awards, most notable of which are the Special Jury Award at Horizontes Latinos at San Sebastián International Film Festival, the FIPRESCI Award at Cinélatino Rencontres de Toulouse, Best Actress at Mumbai Film Festival, Best Feature Film at Festival de Lima, and Best Film at International Women’s Festival of Cologne. La piel pulpo was developed in consultation with experts at the Talent Script Station of the 2018 Berlinale, and the Sundance Screenwriters Lab in 2018. It received development support from the Hubert Bals Fund, the Ecuadorian Film Institute and the Ibermedia Program as well as production support from the World Cinema Fund and the NFF+Europe.
