Lydia Lunch, New York's No Wave icon from the 1970s has been fighting for women's right to say 'fuck you' for decades. The singer, spoken-word artist, writer and actress has never stopped speaking her mind and doesn't intend to change now that she's 60. She continues to overawe audiences with her confrontational, pile-driving style and raw, confessional lyrics.

With her documentary Lydia Lunch – The War Is Never Over underground filmmaker and fellow militant Beth B brings a fitting ode to an indomitable, militant and funny woman, who started fighting her demons early on in life. Lunch arrived in New York as a damaged 16-year-old and founded Teenage Jesus and the Jerks. In 1984, her spoken-word piece Daddy Dearest publically discussed her childhood trauma and she called on people to stop the cycle of violence and abuse. Unfortunately, her message is just as valid today.
