Current status &amp; Goals at CineMart The project is in mid-development and the first draft of the script has been finalised. Initial location scouting has been done and the actor for the main role is already cast. Shooting is planned to start in Galicia in autumn 2025. We are interested in meeting potential co-producers and other financial partners along with sales agents and distributors. We are open to any international collaboration and specifically interested in working with the Netherlands, as the actor that will play the main role is Dutch-Spanish. Argentina is another suitable option for co-production as the director and the DOP are Argentinians.&nbsp;SynopsisBefore the rare appearance of the northern lights, Lucas (28), a solitary woodworker, falls from a tree, injuring his knee. Upon finding Lucas, Eli&aacute;n (11) ensures that the people he lives with can heal him. With Eli&aacute;n's support, Lucas arrives at a commune of wanderers, immigrants, activists, and societal outcasts living without electricity, amidst ruins overtaken by nature. The collective strives for self-sufficiency through the recycling of objects, permaculture, and shared rituals that explore methods of communing with the landscape. Inspired by a shared dream of the enigmatic 'House of Light', they embark on a quest to locate this place, which would enable them to generate their own electricity from the river. A place where beliefs suggest the possibility of evoking both past traumas and enlightening visions. A mixed-breed dog captures Lucas's attention due to its astonishing resemblance to his own. As he forges a connection with the dog, he also forms a close bond with Ux&iacute;a (36), who, since her arrival at the commune, has recovered from arthritis in her hands. Through her sensitive guidance, Lucas undergoes a process of not only physical but also spiritual opening and recovery. One day, Eli&aacute;n returns from the forest without the dog. Searching for her, they stumble upon an ancient stone mill, which guides them to a stone staircase descending to a riverbank, where the 'House of Light' stands amidst the turbulent waters. The commune relocates to the house, where they construct a large waterwheel, only to discover that the only access point for its connection is through an ominous black hole. Despite hesitation, Lucas descends first. As others follow, they find the seemingly lifeless dog in the corner of the space before being invaded by a strange dizziness. On the verge of fainting, they manage to escape. Under the moonlight, the collective experiences hallucinating visions of both past and future realms. As their exhausted bodies collapse onto the ground, Lucas recalls a deep pain, his only memory of his mother being that of her hands. Upon recovery from the trance, the group sets the waterwheel in motion and observes in awe as an unusual green light illuminates the house. Bathed in the glow of this otherworldly light, they share their vulnerabilities and their desires to create a more deep-rooted place of belonging. Fully healed from this injury, Lucas submerges himself in the river. Suddenly, a stirring occurs; the dog swims alongside him.&nbsp;Directors' BiographyAlejandro Tel&eacute;maco Tarraf (Argentina, 1984) studied Image and Sound Design at the University of Buenos Aires and Cinematography at SICA, Argentina. He has worked in the audiovisual field as a director, screenwriter, and cinematographer, and his work has been shown at international film festivals such as Rotterdam, FICUNAM, AFI Fest, Taipei Golden Horse, ICA Institute of Contemporary Arts in London, BAFICI, among others. His debut feature film as a director, Piedra Sola, a co-production with Mexico, UK, and Qatar, premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam in 2020 as part of the official Tiger Competition. It went on to screen at more than 40 international festivals, winning awards at the Zerkalo Andrei Tarkovsky IFF in Russia (Professional Achievement Award), SEMINCI in Spain (Special Jury Mention), FICMY in Mexico (Special Jury Mention), RIFF Reykjavik in Iceland (Special Mention), KIFF Kerala in India (Best Debut Film), Doclisboa in Portugal (Best Film - Practice, Tradition and Heritage Award) and Mostra Ecofalante in Brazil (Best Film).&nbsp;Piedra Sola&nbsp;has also had a commercial release in Switzerland, Germany, and Austria. Alejandro T. Tarraf is currently living in Galicia, Spain, and working on his second feature film,&nbsp;Alumbre, as a writer and director.
