Goals at CineMart We hope to establish partnerships that can contribute to the film&rsquo;s financing, the formation of the artistic and technical crews and increasing its visibility. We are specifically looking for co-producers from Belgium, Germany and Norway. As we are still in development and haven&rsquo;t started the main funding yet, there is room to include co-producers and to set up a consistent co-production.We also want to reach out to sales agents to begin designing the marketing strategy from very early on. What is interesting about this project from a sales perspective is that this is the 3rd part of three films, of which we hold the rights for international sales.Synopsis Like Vincent&rsquo;s previous films, Future Me will be a hybrid film in which he uses fiction as a tool for documentary development. The film consists of a triangle of dynamics: Vincent himself (the protagonist), the actor (his sounding board and the embodiment of his ageing self) and the client (the psychologist). The psychologist comes up with a certain life circumstance and event for each stage of Vincent&rsquo;s life, which he and the actor then have to improvise and film on the spot. How will Vincent live his hypothetical future and what does that say about who he is?The final film will cut back and forth between images of Vincent on the couch at the psychologist, &ldquo;behind the scenes images&rdquo; of Vincent and the actor(s) on set as they play out the fictional scenes resulting from the assignments given to Vincent by the psychologist. As a viewer, you are part of the psychological process in which Vincent works in collaboration with the psychologist and the actor(s) in an attempt to get to the heart of his self-examination. Future Me is a piece of self-exploration in which a fictional future is used as a psychological mirror for the maker&rsquo;s current state of being. What kind of insights can one gain from looking at their own future life?Director&rsquo;s Biography Since graduating from the AKV St. Joost Academy in 2015, documentary director Vincent Boy Kars (1990) has made a name for himself by focusing on documentaries in which he investigates topics such as identity, self-image and sexuality. He often examines these elements in the context of the digital age and the way in which its overconnected aspect has a vital role in different aspects of human life.Being a part of the first generation that is dealing with the endless possibilities of the internet himself, he is highly driven to reveal the consequences of this phenomenon. In his directing, Vincent always aims to challenge and play with the construction of the form. In this sense he encourages the viewer to consider questions such as &ldquo;what is real/unreal&rdquo;, &ldquo;what do we experience as authentic and true&rdquo;, and &ldquo;when is a documentary staged and acted&rdquo;?The young director&rsquo;s distinct visual language is influenced by this approach, as he is flirting with the borders between fiction and reality. His directing debut My First Porn is an example of Vincent&rsquo;s philosophy. In 2017, his documentary Independent Boy, in which the underlying theme is to challenge society&rsquo;s definition of success, premiered at IDFA. His second film of this trilogy, Drama Girl, premiered at IFFR in 2020 as part of the Tiger Competition. Vincent is currently working on the third and final film of his Millennial trilogy, Future Me.&nbsp;

In Future Me, filmmaker Vincent Boy Kars explores his possible future by depicting the rest of his life in a film. Together with an actor - who plays the constantly ageing version of himself - he lives out his future life story until his death. What kind of insights can one gain for the present by looking at their own future life?
