A gangster flees through the night after a failed robbery. In the morning he is expected by his 'cronies' at the airport. Way to Rio is the combination of the graduation film Nach Rio by Clemens Klopfenstein (1944, Täuffelen), who went on to make such classic IFFR films as E nachtlang Fuurland, and its new interpretation Rio, directed by Lukas Tiberio Klopfenstein. Shot in 1968 in Zurich and 2008 in Umbria. Two beginnings.
