A coarse yet beautiful poem about the irrational freedom of a Gypsy community in the countryside of Vojvodina (Serbia). While the Roma have trouble surviving by collecting goose feathers, they are driven by passionate love and their dedication to the values of this nomad community. Bora (Bekim Fehmiu) is obsessed by the teenager Tisa, whom he wants to take home with him as his new wife. Tisa is a stepdaughter of Bora's rival and the two are heading for an inevitable and severe conflict. This magnificent film uses the aesthetics of the Yugoslav `black wave' from the 1960s that is characterised by the poetry of ugliness, mud, poverty and pain. With many dialogues in Romani, impressive music and many Gypsies making their acting début, this film could almost pass as a documentary.
