Xavier Beauvois

Xavier Beauvois (1967) grew up in Calais. He headed for Paris at an early age to work on a career in film and found support from e.g. Jean Douchet. He worked as assistant director to André Téchiné on Les innocents and to Manoel d'Oliveira on Mon cas. His short film Le matou was awarded with the jury prize at the short-film festival in Lille.
