Philippe Ramos

Philippe RAMOS (1964, France) was educated in image and sound at the French film school La Fémis. He is part of a group of young French film directors that is sometimes referred to as the new wave of French cinema. Other directors in this group are Yves Caumon, Jean-Paul Civeyrac en François Ozon. Already in 2004 Ramos directed the short film Captaine Achab, based on the story of Moby Dick. Ramos made a long version of this film in 2007 and won an award in the category Best Director and a FIPRESCI Prize at the film festival of Locarno in 2007.
