Patricio Castilla

Artist Patricio CASTILLA (1943, Chile) studied economics at Sorbonne in 1964 and then attended INRACI in Belgium to study film, this led him to achieving his diploma as a director of photography and cinematographic techniques. During the period of the Unidad Popular he created documentaries. In 1973 he travelled to Cuba to support the production of La Tierra Prometida (1973) by Miguel LITTIN. After Chile's coup d'etat, he worked in exile, making documentaries for Cuban and Chilean cinema. Afterwards, Castilla focussed his artistic practice on painting and writing attending at art venues in Spain, Germany and the US.
