Miguel LITTIN (1942, Chile) is a director, screenwriter, producer and novelist. His film El Chacal de Nahueltoro (1969) awarded him the title of 'Father of the New Latin American Cinema'. During the military coup of Alfonso Pinochet, he was in Exile in Europe. La Tierra Prometida (1973) was screened in Cannes, New York and the Moscow International Film Festival. At the latter, he was a jury member in 1981. Littin's films Actas de Marusia (1974) and Alsino y el Condor (1981) were nominated by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science. His film El recurso del método (1978) is part of the IFFR 2024 focus programme, Chile in the Heart.
