Ester Krumbachová
Still: Murdering the DevilEster KRUMBACHOVÁ (1923-1996, Czech) was an influential filmmaker during the Czech New Wave. During the 1980s the communist party banned her from working in the industry and she only ever directed one film, Murdering the Devil (1969), shown at IFFR 2024 as part of the Cinema Regained programme. Krumbachová's career was characterised by a combination of a number of artistic professions such as directing, writing, set and costume design.
