Films uit Delfshaven – Bars

IFFR and Library Rotterdam will screen the short film Bars together with filmmaker René van Zundert on Saturday 8 July 2023 at 14:00. This is a free event. Bring a neighbour or a friend and experience the beauty of Rotterdam, also on the cinema screen!

About Bars
Bars shows a documentary portrait of Michael, who trains every day to become the best of the best in the new sports discipline callisthenics, all so he can escape his hopeless situation. Michael is only 22, but stuck in between his job at the harbour, his financial debt and a far from ideal living situation. His motto is: “perseverance is the key to success”. 

The screening of Bars is accompanied by an activity in which participants will learn how to create and develop a storyline and plot. What kinds of decision making go into editing a film, and what is the motivation behind these creative decisions?

The workshop will be given in Dutch. The film is in Dutch with English subtitles. There’s a limited capacity, so please reserve your seats before through the link below.
