IFFR KINO #28: To Live and Die in LA

Event

Year round 2019

Before we kick off IFFR 2020, join us for a final IFFR KINO screening on Wednesday 8 January. We’re showing William Friedkin’s To Live and To Live and Die in LA (1985), in which a secret agent tries to avenge his killed colleague. With William Petersen, Willem Dafoe and cinematography by Robby Müller.

This neo-noir crime flick follows a stubborn secret agent (debut role by Peterson, also known for Manhunter) as he tries to track down his criminal adversary (played by Willem Dafoe). In doing so, he doesn’t like to play by the rules, and the boundaries between good and evil are rapidly fading. This cat-and-mouse game, including a spectacular chase scene, have been masterfully captured by Müller.
