Short Film 2018
As a central part of the festival, IFFR Short Film is a unique showcase of artists’ moving image and experimental film for works under 60 minutes. Shown on a variety of formats from 3D to 35mm film, it is a celebration of film and video in all their forms.
Bright Future Midlength 2018
In the past years, we have seen a tendency for short films to get longer, and features to get shorter. Since 2014 IFFR highlights a new format on the rise: the mid-length film, between 45 and 62 minutes. The Bright Future Mid-length programme of 2018 consists of ten films, five of which are world premieres. After each screening there will be extra time to meet the director.
sound//vision
sound//vision 2018 is a four-night programme at club WORM Rotterdam featuring live A/V performances. From Thursday 25 to Sunday 28 January the nights of sound//vision offer exceptional and exclusive cooperations between musicians, video artists, filmmakers and other artists working in the field of sound and vision.
Voices Short Audience Award
The new Voices Short Audience Award now also puts the spotlight on the less experimental and more narrative-driven short films from the festival’s Voices section.
