Sacha Gertsik

Sacha Gertsik is an Amsterdam-based producer that focuses on fiction films and series. She studied Audiovisual Media at the Utrecht School of Arts and later graduated cum laude from the Master Film Studies at the University of Amsterdam. She has worked as a development executive for producers and for the broadcaster BNNVARA (where she worked on many titles, amongst which are ANNE+, Gangsta, About that Life, Afterlife, The Columnist and Meskina). Eight years ago she founded De Ontmoeting – a programme that funds and distributes shorts by new talent. De Ontmoeting has since made over 60 shorts, launching many careers of filmmakers in The Netherlands. Together with Steven Rubinstein Malamud, Sacha has recently founded the production company GROM.

GROM - The Netherlands

GROM Productions is an independent Dutch production company aiming to produce a wide range of projects. Founders Sacha Gertsik and Steven Rubinstein Malamud aim to work on productions that challenge the norms of society and the industry. In everything they do, they actively aim to work with a diverse team: from directors and writers to other talents, in front and behind the camera. They try to look at anything they do through an intersectional lens and actively work towards a safer working environment for everyone involved in their productions and in the industry at large.
