Romain Bent is an independent producer based in France. He started his career in the audiovisual industry in international film sales, before joining Vivendi group in 2013, where he was in charge of identifying and negotiating the rights of films, series and documentaries for the group's streaming platforms. He continued to develop his passion for independent cinema within France Télévisions, as head of program acquisitions for their online streaming offers and linear channels. His expertise and his strong experience in contact with authors and directors led him to move into production, with a strong interest in the production and financing of content for cinema and television. Then trained at La Femis and specialised in European co-productions, he created Protest Studios in 2019, a production company through which he develops fiction and documentary projects that honour passionate, bold and committed authors.
