Soufiane ADEL (1981, Algeria) was born in Algeria and moved to France early in his childhood. His interest in cinema peaked while attending ENSCI - Les Ateliers, a design school in Paris. In 2004 he made his first short film, Closed nights (2004), about his father. The film premiered at Clermont-Ferrand International Film Festival. His second short film, Kamel has committed six times suicide, his father died (2007), was selected at Cannes - Directors' Fortnight and ACID in 2008. Since then he has actively directed and co-directed films that have premiered in many different international film festivals. His films continue to receive international acclaim.
