Serge Le Péron

Serge LE PÉRON (1948, Paris, France) is a director, scriptwriter and actor. During his studies at the University of Vincennes in the turbulence years after May 1968, he founded Cinélutte, a film collective that made militant films about strikes and labour conflicts in the factories. In 1975, he joined with others in making a film about the Palestine question, l'Olivier. Le Péron spent more than 10 years as an editor of Cahiers du Cinéma, where he mainly focused on political questions. His later film work also shows no decline in his political commitment.
