Sarmad Sultan KHOOSAT (1979, Pakistan) is a director, actor, producer and screenwriter who has directed some of Pakistan’s most celebrated and highly rated TV series, such as Humsafar and Shehr-e-Zaat. Khoosat starred in the feature film Manto (2017), based on the career of writer Saadat Hasan Manto, which helped to spearhead his career, and he was awarded Pakistan’s Pride of Performance Award for his outstanding contribution to the country’s film and television industry. Zindagi Tamasha (2019) was selected as Pakistan’s entry for Best International Film at the Academy Awards. Khoosat also teaches film and other subjects, and has taught at various universities and institutes including Kinnaird College, Punjab University, SZABIST and National College of Arts.
