Still: The Price For Fire
Rossella NISIO is an Italian visual artist based in Rotterdam. She studied the theory of Cinema and Performing Arts at the University of Roma Tre (DAMS). She completed practical training in photography at Ar.Co in Lisbon and in 2019 earned her Masters in Fine Art and Design in the Lens-Based programme at the Piet Zwart Institute in Rotterdam. She was a recipient of the Emerging Talent Stipendium from the Mondriaan Fonds. She is an artist with interdisciplinary inclinations whose work has a strong focus on notions of memory, imagination, and space. Her works have been presented at festivals such as Rencontres Internationales in Paris and Berlin, Go Short International Short Film Festival in Nijmegen, IndieLisboa in Lisbon, and are included in the collection of the EYE Film Institute in Amsterdam and the CFMDC in Toronto. She is a resident artist of the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam for 2021-22.
