Perry Henzell

After attending McGill University in Montreal, Peter HENZELL (1936-2006, Jamaica) went to England to work for the BBC. In 1959 he returned to Jamaica where he founded Vista Productions in Kingston. During the sixties he made hundreds of commercials and several documentaries, building up a studio and crew to the point where he could write, produce and direct Jamaica’s first feature film The Harder They Come (1972). In recent years Henzell wrote plays, short stories, novels and columns. He died on 30 November .
