Filmmaker and photographer Måns MÅNSSON (1982, Sweden) acquired his Master of Fine Arts at the Royal Institute of Art in his birthplace of Stockholm. His films have been screened and won prizes at several international festivals. Stranded in Canton (2014) isn't Månsson's first adventure in documentary fiction. In Roland Hassel (2012), a Swedish TV detective solved a real-life crime. Månsson claims to work according to Viktor Kossakovsky's mantra: 'There are too many good films out there. We'd better start making some great ones.'

The Swede Månsson developed the concept for this improvised feature with director Li Hongqi (Winter Vacation). Their revealing, humorous story about a Congolese businessman whose consignment of T-shirts is delayed, as a result of which he gets stranded in Guangzhou, has already been described as a mixture between Claire Denis and Jia Zhangke.

The unsolved murder of Prime Minister Olof Palme (1986) is the greatest trauma in modern Swedish history. Roland Hassel, well-known detective and film character, re-examined the facts after his retirement. Deconstruction of documentary reconstructions, shot in gritty VHS style. Funny and serious.
