Still: Once Upon A Time There Was A Mom
Lin Htet Aung (1998, Myanmar) is a self-taught filmmaker and time-based media artist. In his earlier days, he wrote avant-garde poems and published underground poetry books. He started making short films in 2017. In 2020, his experimental short film Estate (2020) won the Silver Screen Award – Best Director in the Southeast Asian Short Film Competition at 31st Singapore International Film Festival SGIFF (2020). His short films have been screened at LINOLEUM Contemporary Animation and Media Art Festival, Kurzfilm Festival Hamburg, Ruang Rantau Exhibition and Ecological Futurisms, among others. His films Seeking Wombs For Rebirths (2021) and Me and My Country Pornography (2022) have been selected in the International Online Competition and International On-Site Competition at 68th Internationale Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen (2022).
