Lech Kowalski

Lech KOWALSKI (1951, London), emigrated to the United States as a child. In his teens, he got hold of a second-hand Super8 camera. He studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York and became inspired by cinéma vérité. He started making porn films that immediately provided him with the subject for his documentary début: Sex Stars. Himself an outsider, he has made several documentaries and short films about subcultures such as the punk and drugs scenes.
