José Alvaro Morais

José Alvaro Morais (1945) was born in Coimbra. he first studied medicine and started his film career in 1967 as an assistant to Antonio-Pedro Vasconcelos. He then attended the Institute National Supérieur de Arts et Spectacles in Brussels. In 1977 he made the documentay Ma femme chamada bicho. O Bobo, on which he worked for six years, is his first feature.
