John Cassavetes
With the money he earned as an actor in the popular TV series Johnny Staccato, John Cassavetes (1929-1989) made Shadows, a semi-improvised story about the love between a white kid and a black girl. He was renowned for his emotional-realistic film style that he developed through intense cooperation with his regular group of actors, including Peter Falk and actress and wife Gena Rowlands.
