Jilali Ferhati

Jillali Ferhati was born in 1948 in Khemisset, Morocco. He lived in France for ten years where he studied literature and sociology. In this period he was an actor with the Théâtre International in Paris. Several films by Ferhati have been show at the Cannes Film Festival and his Aarais min kassab (which won prizes at the Rabat festival for best directing and leading actress) was broadcast by e.g. Channel 4, the ZDF and Dutch television.
