Jaco Bouwer

Jaco BOUWER (1973, South Africa) studied Engineering at the University of Stellenbosch, until he switched to theatre. He obtained a BA in directing and an MA in drama. He has been working as both an actor and director in film, TV and theatre ever since. In 2003, he received the Fleur de Cap Young Director Award for the theatre production Spanner. He won a number of international awards with his short film I Love You Jet Li (2005). In 2008, his work in theatre was honoured with the Standard Bank Young Artist Award for Drama. His work favours controversial subjects.
