Imamura Shohei
Imamura Shohei (1926, Tokyo) is the maker of a large and varied oeuvre characterised by lively portrayals of the condition humaine and a down-to-earth sense of humour. In 1983 he also won a Golden Palm for The Ballad of Narayama.
