Hans Weingartner

Hans WEINGARTNER (1970, Feldkirch, Austria) studied neurology at the University of Vienna and went on to specialise in neurosurgery in Berlin. During his medical studies, he also began working as a camera assistant and completed his post-graduate studies in film making at Cologne's Academy of Media Arts. His feature début Das weisse Rauschen won the Max Ophüls Prize and was named Best First Feature by the German film critics.
