Gadalla Gubara

Gadalla GUBARA (1920-2008, Sudan) is regarded as the father of Sudanese cinema. He has been making films since 1946. His daughter Sarah is seen as Sudan's first female film director. In 1972, Gubara set up Studio Gad, the first privately owned film studio in Sudan. Gadalla died of a heart attack in 2008.
