David CAIRNS (1967, Scotland) is a critic, writer and filmmaker. He writes the film blog Shadowplay and has contributed to Sight & Sound. He has written for various DVD releases for Masters of Cinema, the Criterion Collection and Arrow Films. His first short film Cry for Bobo won several awards at film festivals and led to follow-up short Inside an Uncle and The Return of Peg Leg Pete. Natan is his first feature documentary.
