Chloé Zhao

Chloé ZHAO (China) studied Political Science at Mount Holyoke College, USA. After this, she was educated in film making at the New York University’s Graduate Film Program. Staying in the USA, she made several short films. Her first feature film Songs My Brothers Taught Me (2015) premiered at Sundance as part of the U.S. Official Competition, after which it was shown in Cannes. Zhao's second feature The Rider (2017), a feminist Western, had its world premiere in Cannes and won the Art Cinema Award.
