Ben CHACE (USA) is a musician, producer, writer and filmmaker based in New Orleans. He taught a movie-making elective at Brooklyn Community Arts and Media High School (BCAM) and is still involved in the school’s film programme. He has made and produced several independent features, such as Wah do dem (2010), which he co-directed with Sam Fleischner, and Sin alas (2016), which is the first American feature film to be shot in Cuba since the Revolution. His films have been screened at various film festivals worldwide, including the 2008 Urbanworld Film Festival, Provincetown Film Festival, and AFI Latin American Film Festival. For Wah do dem, he was awarded the Jury Prize at the 2010 Los Angeles Film Festival and shortlisted for Best Film at BFI London Film Festival. Music Pictures (2022) is his latest film.
