      Aribam Syam Sharma

      Aribam Syam Sharma was born in 1939 in Imphal, Manipur. He graduated in Indian philosophy at Vishwabharti University in Shantiniketan, where he also studied classical Indian music. His interest and involvement in theatre made him an important actor and director in Manipuri theatre. From 1974 Aribam Syam Sharma also directed films, for which he usually also wrote the film music. As well as feature films, he has also made eight documentaries.
