Anita Rocha da Silveira was born in Rio de Janeiro in 1985 and majored in Film Studies at Pontifical Catholic University. She wrote, directed and edited three short-films: The Noon Vampire (2008), Handball (FIPRESCI Award at the 2011 Int. Short Film Festival Oberhausen), and The Living Dead (2012 Cannes Film Festival Directors’ Fortnight).Kill Me Please (2015) is her first feature film. Produced by Bananeira Filmes and Rei Cine, it premiered at Venice International Film Festival (Orizzonti section). Kill Me Please was awarded with the Bisato d’Oro for Best Group Performance, Best Director and Best Actress at Rio Int. Film Festival, and Best Film at Cali Int. Film Festival. The film was also presented at New Directors/New Films, SXSW, Bafici, Indie Lisboa, Filmfest München, Gotebörg FF, Cartagena IFF, AFI Fest, and La Roche-sur-Yon IFF, among others.Now, Da Silveira is developing her second feature, Medusa, which was part of Script Station (Berlinale Talents) and ScriptLab (Torino Film Lab).
